Former Brasenose student Rachel Maxey (viola) returns to Oxford with the Bloomsbury Quartet.

Rachel was the winner of Oxford University’s Philharmonia Concerto Competition, resulting in a performance of the Bartók Concerto to a packed Sheldonian.

This performance is a preview of Bloomsbury Quartet’s new show “ReCentred: Elizabeth Maconchy”, which will tour around the UK in 2019/20.

The Platnauer Concerts were established to honour the memory of Maurice Platnauer, Principal of Brasenose (1956-1960). The concerts are open to all members of college and following the event everyone is welcome to join the Principal and Fellows for refreshments.
